Tettnang Saphir

Released in 2002, Saphir features elements of spice and fruit amid refined citrus notes of tangerine. It is considered well-suited to Belgian Whites, Pilsners, and German Lagers.
Bred at the Hop Research Center in Hüll, the initial goal of its creators was to produce a more commercially viable alternative to Hallertau Mittelfrüh through increased disease resistance and the retention of Hallertau’s noble characteristics. In that capacity, Saphir would most certainly be considered a success.

Flavor & Aroma Profile

Saphir is an aroma hop typically used in late boil additions, including dry hopping. Saphir hops have aroma descriptors that include spicy, fruity and floral, with hints of tangerine tones.

Weight Limits:

The weight limit is 30kg for DPD and 70kg for DHL, either by volumetric or actual, whichever is greater. (Remember, a large packing box weighs 1kg of that total weight).
